In order to develop a system to test the hydraulic cylinder effectively, this paper studies on test techniques of the synthetic performance test system, and then designs the structure of the system. The test system developed can automatically achieve prototype test and delivery test.The test system consists of the hydraulic system, electrical control system and loading bench. Firstly, the principle design of hydraulic system for hydraulic cylinder test system is carried out using electro-hydraulic proportional control technique. The hydraulic system can control the pressure and flow automatically. Secondly, the mechanical structure of lying and parallel connection is designed for the loading bench, which can simulate the actual working condition of hydraulic cylinders. Lastly, electric control system is designed based on the IPC and data acquired card, and a control software is developed using BCB and virtual instruments technology.This paper focuses on the research of the electro-hydraulic proportional technology. Mathematic models of electro-hydraulic proportional valves are built, then the simulation model of hydraulic system is established with Matlab/Simulink and AMESim, simulations are carried out by the union simulation, the results show the test method and control strategy of the test system are feasible.Prototype test and delivery test are test on the system as to certain hydraulic cylinder. Experiment data of 4 typical tests indicate that the test system has many characteristics such as high accuracy, high automation degree and high credibility. The development of the test system, not only provides reliable platform for hydraulic cylinder test and research, also lays technical foundation for the system of similar structure, and forms a set of rather integrated design methods.
