DF5D Internal-combustion Locomotive, with many advanced techniques in electric equipment, is one of primary types in chinese factories. The real-time instruction system of the DF5D internal-combustion locomotive's electric equipment is developped for helping the drivers and the maintainers to know well the manipulation and maintenance.In part 1, the instruction system's develop status are introduced. In part 2, the instruction system of the DF5D internal-combustion locomotive's electric equipment is designed, and several key problems are resolved. The firstly the electric system is simplified in order to obtain the circuits'working states through processing sampling values by computer. The secondly interface program is designed under ObjectARX2004 in order to drive the static circuit diagram drawed by AutoCAD. The finally, communications between PC and several sampling SCMs are solved. Research on the error locating function of this instruction system is done in part 3. Firstly the locomotive's electrical system is changed into data circuit. Then the testing code is gained by the boolean difference method. Finally the number of the sampling is reduced. It is available in the design of a error locating online system.The experiments show the method proposed is feasible.
