Electromagnetic gun is a new kind of weapon which accelerate projectile to high speed by electromagnetic force. Compare with the traditional gun,it has incomparable advantage for traditional weapon as its high speed,high efficiency, good performance and control. Electromagnetic gun includes rail gun, coil gun and reconnection gun. Among them, rail gun which due to simple structure and easy to achieve high speed has been regarded as key research object in electromagnetic launch field. But it has a serious weakness that energy efficiency is so low, rail gun energy utilization only 3%. And there is an ablation, rail cutting, armature turbulence Etc. Structural components require high strength and rigidity as well, and can withstand high current. Despite of the complex structure and power supply system, coil gun develops very quickly, there is little friction between projectile and cannon, also it can launch heavy object, and energy efficiency is preferable as well.In This paper, we put forward the design rule of power, projectile and drive coil subsystem by researching on the work mechanism of brush reversing helical coil gun, simulate and analyze the static-dynamic electromagnetic character of it, and make some simple test.Main content as follows:1. We analyze the work principle of the brush reversing helical coil gun, then build its kinetic model and circuit model in theory, and get the form of the acceleration force. On this basic, the design rule of power, projectile and drive coil subsystem are put forward.2. The static and dynamic character is simulated respectively by Maxwell 2D and Matlab/Simulink. After that, we get the optimized structure parameter with the precondition of maximal speed.3. Combine with the merit of magnetic projectile, we put forward two better schemes, and compare with the coil only scheme. Finally establish a new high efficiency helical coil gun system, especially discuss on the design method of projectile in different conditions.4. Based on the theory and simulate analysis, a new high-efficiency helical coil gun experiment system is built. Experiment shows that the theoretical analysis and the simulation calculation are credible.
