As one of four research projects in the automobile technology development, the automobile ride comfort characteristic has become the important performance index of the automobile in the business competition of the automobile incorporations.The air-spring bus is studied in this thesis. Based on the multi-body system dynamics theory and research method, the multi-body system dynamics model including air-spring, tire, man-seat and chassis is built by the ADAMS/Car software. Then the ride comfort simulation is completed.The suspension system is one of the important devices in the automobile and has influenced strongly ride comfort of buses. Therefore, the air-suspension rigid body model and rigid-flexible coupled model have established and the simulation analysis has carried out. The optimal design is also presented. Rigid-flexible coupled model reflects accurately the kinematics of the air suspension and improves the simulation accuracy of bus and suspension.The required road in the simulation is derived by the road profile generation. Given the pulse input and random input, the simulation of the vehicle is carried out. The ride comfort is evaluated according to the national standard and the data post-processed in the Matlab software. And we analyze and compare the ride comfort of bus by changing the stiffness and damping of tire and suspension. Then an improved method and measure is proposed that provides the reference for the bus design and development.
