| Crumbed rubber asphalt is widely used around the world in these years because of its advantage in the aspects of environmental protection and good performance in road application. The author of the paper takes part in the asphalt rubber trial of Kongxing road in Tongzhou, which is an important trial projects under the management of Beijing Roadway Administration Bureau. A series of test including penetration , softening point, ductility, viscosity and resilience recovery on different kinds of crumbed rubber asphalt made of different crumbed rubber or with different technics are carried out. Based on the above test results, the properties of asphalt rubber as well as the principle of choosing material to make qualified asphalt rubber is mastered. Then the properties of asphalt rubber premix of different kinds including ARAC-13, ARAC-16 and open-graded-13 are studied and the results showed that crumbed rubber asphalt premix performed very well if it is properly designed. At last, the good performance of crumbed rubber asphalt premix on road is validated through a series tests results including density, flatness, structural depth of road table , friction coefficient and noise level for paved road on Kongxing Road trial section, during which the construction technics of crumbed rubber asphalt premix including manufacture, transportation, paving and compaction is studied. It verified the road performance of crumbed rubber asphalt .
