Holistic Interpretation Of Architectural Creation

As a complex system, the holistic principles of architectural creation should not be overlooked. Our creation has been made remarkable achievements in recent years, which is about the form of construction and practices of research. But the relationship between architecture and region, architecture and urban, architecture and environment are still one-sided understood. And the insufficient attention to the theoretical research is affecting the healthy development of architectural creation.Through the analysis of the stage of architectural creation, we can easily find that architectural creation should be the one from the macro to the micro as an integral system. And through a research methods from micro to macro, from the region to the environment, this paper attempts to make the holistic thinking as a core, and then explain the basic principles and laws which exist in the architectural creation. Four parts will be discussed in the article:First of all, the paper tried to establish the framework of holistic theory research during architectural creation by analysing the research object and scope, and defined the concept of region perspective, urban perspective and environmental perspective of holistic theory.Secondly, starting from the issue of holistic thinking, the paper discussed the impact on architectural creation practice caused by the differences in regional culture, regional physical geography and regional space-time view in region perspective, which reveals that architecture and region are closely linked.Thirdly, the paper interpreted how architectural creation was effected by urban space, urban fabric and urban style in urban perspective, and summarized the inclusion relationship between architecture and urban.Finally, the paper proposed the design strategies and methods of surrounding streets, surrounding buildings and surrounding landscape during architectural creation in environmental perspective, for clarifying that architecture is inseparable from environment.The paper belongs in architectural creation research category. I hope that the paper can play a certain complementary and catalytic role in the field of holistic theory during architectural creation, which also provides some references value to the future architectural creation practice.
