Southwest China is one of main produce regions of rice, because of the limits of the geographical characteristics of mountains and hills in those areas, the degree of mechanization for harvesting rice is not high. The full-feed rice combine harvester used in the northern plains is not practical in the southwest. Based on studying of the structural features of semi-feed rice combine harvester, the research proposed a lighter semi-feed rice combine harvester to solve the problem that the type of traditional harvesting machine is huge and walking in the field is not convenient.The main research contents and conclusions include:Firstly, The purpose of the subject is to design a lightweight type. It proposed the entire machine program with the feature of "threshing before harvesting " and "articulated truck". It can reduce the grip transport links and the weight of the machine by using this approach,make the whole machine more portability.Secondly, The program has determined the overall parameters and transmission route of the entire machine,calculated the parameter of each module in detail and drawn the corresponding three-dimensional modeling. In the process of designing,it has also checked the static strength and rigidity and modal about the threshing roller with the ANSYS Workbench,proofread the static strength and stiffness about the blades with Hyper Works. The results showed the key components meet the requirements.Thirdly,The power consumption of the key components is calculated.Based on the power consumption, the dynamic part of the machine is selected.In the way, the main part of the design of this machine is completed.In this study, the advanced design methods and means of virtual design, finite element analysis are applied. The design experience is combined with computer technology in the design process, which greatly improves the design speed, shortens the time required for product design and reduces the costs. This study has important referential meaning to the design and research of the related type of products.
