This paper gave a study on the relationship betWeen the obesitygene locus and carcass and meat quality traits in the two tyPes of hybridpigs. The tWo hybrid tyPes were Landrace X (Large White X ErhualianandDuroc X (Landrace X Large Whte) respectively The carcass and meatquality trats included Dressing percentage, Meat Percentage, Averagebackfat thechass, Lion-eye area, intrtwscular fat, pH value, meat color,Waer holding caPacity and tenderness, The result showed that obesitygene had polymorphism in the two pig grouPs, and 2 genetyPes werefOund by the methOd of Bi-PASA. Variance analysis revealed that thegenetypes of obesity gene had a high linkage with the trait ofintramuscular fat, bot no correlation was found with other carcass andmeat quality traits in the Studied pig groups.
