Grafting is a widespread technique in grape cultivation, its value was fully affirmed in practice. In general, stock-scion combination of varieties are compatible, it is always used to renew varieties. But it is still a problem on graft incompatibility of graft varieties, and it is deserved to research. In our experiment, micrografting was used to studied the compatible and incompatible combinations from survival rate, growth state, water potential, anatomic structure, content of phenols and PPO activity, and analyzed primarily the relations between them and graft compatibility.The higher survival rate of grafting was achieved in compatible combinations, 'RizamatV 'Baixiangjiao' and 'Canepubu'/'Muscat Hamburg', it is above 85%; Incompatible combinations, 'Canepubu'/'Baixiangjiao' and 'Carignane'/'Baixiangjiao', the survival rate were only 3.33% and 13.33%. Both translocated and localized incompatibilities exist in the 'Canepubu'/'Baixiangjiao';'Carignane'/'Baixiangjiao' belongs to translocated incompatibility.At the late stage of grafting union, necrotic layer(isolation layer) of compatible combinations became thiner than before, and finally disappeared, conducting tissue of rootstock-scion connected and the graft plants survived. To incompatible combinations, the necrotic layer always existed or disappeared partly, and the grafting failed, vascular disconnection contributes to the failure of grafting.The results of anatomical observation indicated that the graft compatibility is better when the internal structure of scion and rootstock(the size of cambium cell, xylem/phloem and area of vascular) is similar; On the contrary, compatibility is inferior.Water potential of tissue is closely relevant to graft compatibility. The graft plants are easy to survive when water potential of rootstock is higher than scion, otherwise, may lead to physiological barrier and scion will die for lacking of water supply.The content of polyphenols and PPO activity of rootstock and scion are connected with the graft compatibility. It is good for graft when the content of polyphenols is low and the PPO activity is weak.
