Amentotaxus argotaenia lies only in China, and its population is reduced so sharply that it is faced to the danger of extinct, for this reason, its reproduction is studied. Tissue culture of Amentotaxus argotaenia with all kinds of exocarp is studied primarily. Axillary buds have been induced from yearly shoot cutting in culture on A. argotaenia for the first time, that increase the speed of propagation . The exocarp of A. argotaenia can be easily induced dedifferentiation, but it is very difficult for the callus to differentiate. The optimal medium for inducing axillary buds is MB (1/2MS (MS 1/2 large elements trace element) + B5 (organic element), the latter the same) + KT1.Smg/L + NAAO.Smg/L + sucrose2.0% + agar0.8% & 1/2MS + 6-BA3mg/L + NAA2mg/L + KTO.Smg/L + ACO.3%+ sucrose 2.5% + agar 0.8%,the rates are both beyond 50% The optimal medium to promote growth of seedling iS: 1/2MS + IBAO.lmg/L + agar 0.8% + sucrose 2.0%~ Tube seedling success take root in the medium: 1/4MS + IBA4mg/L+ NAA2mg/L + agar 0.8% + sucrose 2.0% The optimal medium for inducing dedifferentiation is 1/2MS + 6-BA1.5mgfL + NAAO.5mgIL + sucrose2.5% + agar0.8% and the rate can get to 100%; the better medium is MB + KT1.OmgIL + NAAO.Smg/L + sucrose2.0% + agar0.8% and the rate is93.3%. Amenotaxus argotaenia is so beautiful that it can be put into use in garden.
