Massicus raddei is a very harmful insect on the oakerys (Quercus spp.). Recently years, it occurs frequently at kuandian County of the Liaoning province. The oakerys About 80 thousands bin3 have been attracted in this area. The species damaged oaks have five kinds. They are Quercus mongolica, Q.liaotungensis, Q.dentate, Q.aliena and Q.variables. The Q.mongolica and Q.liaotungensls are most serious in the all oakerys. The beetle抯 appearing is close relative with stand age and site. In general, the south slope and above slope is more serious. Life history of the beetle is a generation every third year. Larva period is longer than other insect types, which is about 1000 days. It is a gather distribution in the woodiness. Mature beetle, pupa and egg are shorter lifetime than larva period. Mature beetle has photokinesis in the night and fly capability in the air. Silvicultural measure is one of the most effects with clear-cut and intermediate. After clear-cut and nature, the beetle can disappear a long time. Light trap and man-made capture mature beetles have obvious effect. Among all these dark light is the best. It can eliminate a number of mature beetles. Meantime using chemistry insecticides (as dimethoate 100 times solution deltamethrin 200 times solution anddimethoate + deltamethrin 200 times solution etch.) has made 98 percent result on the preventing woodiness mature beetle. The larva; which is just hatching can be killed 75 percent with 揕inDan?insecticides smog dose. Aluminum phosphate can smoke all larva to die in the log (after cutting log) Killing rate is 100 percent with 9gm3.
