Jingmian persimmon with a high content of sugar is processed to produce Caozhou Gengbing, a kind of high quality food with a great potential as export to the international market. In order to produce organic persimmon in Heze region, nine persimmon varieties including Daerzao, Xiaoerzhao, Bayuehuang, Jiuyueqing, Youloutou, Yanshi, Mopanshi, Jinshi and Cilang were used as experimental materials for the observation on variety resource, biological characters, production and process of persimmon in Heze Region. The results were shown as follows.1. Jingmian persimmon such as Bayuehuang, Daerzao, Xiaoerzao and Jiuyueqing produced fruits in medium size with high sugar content and high quality, while Mopanshi and Cilang produced smaller fruit with lower sugar contend than Jingmian persimmon. Compared with the above-mentioned varieties, Youloutou were not suitable to used as main variety in Heze because of their fruit with a small size, low sugar, and bad quality.2. The fruit characters of Jingmian persimmon were related with the length and width of their braches bearing fruits. The braches 30 cm long and 0.5-0.7 wide showed the highest bearing capacity. In contrast, the branches either longer 30 cm or shorter than 10 cm had a low fruitset ratio due to their vigorous and weak growth, respectively.3. Different treatments such as girdle,girding and spaying GA were carried out to improve fruitset capacity at blossoming stage. The difference in fruitset of those treatments was significant compared with the control, but insignificant among different treatments. The girding trees showed the highest fruitset capacity.4. Heze produced high quality Jingmian persimmon. However, many pathogens and pests such as anthranose,angular leaf spot and Persimmon Woolly Coccid occurred to negatively affect persimmon fruit quality.
