This paper consisted of three expenmcnts The purpose of this study was designed to study effects of dietary?copper sources and their levels on performance and egg quality of laying hens. The two kinds of copper sources, cupric citrate and cupric sulphate were used in this study. The~?are summarized respectively as follows: Experiment I. Effect of dietary copper supplementation on the layers?performance and egg quality This experiment was carried out to study?the dietary?copper requirement of laying hens. The two-hundred and twenty Hisex brown laying hens of 78-week-age were randomly divided into 8 groups. Each group was fed a basal diet supplemented with 0, 6, 30, 60, 125 mg/kg cupric sulphate (CuSO4) and 6, 30, 60 mg/kg cupric citrate (CuCit) respectively for a period of 8 weeks ad libitum.
