1 Effect of small peptide on nitrogen Retention and digestibilities of nutrients in goatsFour one-year-old goats (the initial weight: 20+1.54Kg) were used in this experiment, and two of them were fitted catheters in the proximal duodenum. The goats were assigned into four treatments. All goats were fed with the same basal diets, and water was supplied freely during the trial period, but the first and second treatments were fed with amino acids and small peptide respectively, the third and fourth treatments were infused amino acids and small peptide. The results showed that: (1) when amino acids and small peptide were utilized as protein sources of the goats, the nitrogen retention of the goats, which infused with small peptide, was the highest. There were significant differences among them (P<0. 05). And its aBV was the highest, which was 24. 8%> 12. 8% and 16. 4% higher than other three treatments respectively. (2) Small peptide had significant effect on the digestibilities of the dietary energy and the Ca (P<0. 05). The digestibility of energy of infused small peptide treatment had improved 13. 4%> 9.8% and 3.3%; The digestibility of CF had been improved 14.5%, 6.2% and 9.8%. But the small peptide had not significant effect on the digestibilities of CE and fiber (P>0. 05).2 Effect of the small peptide on glucose, ammonia and amino acids in portal veinous plasma of goatsSix goats (25+1. SlkgBW) were assigned to two treatments, and three goats of each treatment. Each goat was fitted with a catheter in portal vein for sampling blood. The two treatments were fed with the same nutritional level, but the control and trial treatments were fed with soybean and small peptiderespectively. The results showed that: small peptide could significantly affect the concentrations of plasma glucose, and amino acids. The concentration of the portal veinous plasma glucose of the trial and the control were 3. 19?. ISmmol / L and 2. 54?. 27mmol / L, and the difference was significant (P<0.05). The concentration Of the portal veinous plasma ammonia of the trial and the control treatment were 0. 252 ?. 084mmol / L, and 0. 235?. OQOmmol / L, but there was not significant difference between these two treatments (P>0. 05). Small peptide had significant effect on the concentrations of Thr* Ala and Arg (P<0.01), and had significant effect on the concentrations of Ser, GlyN Val ^ Met and Tyr (P<0. 05), but had not significant effect on other amino acid. The trial suggested that small peptide as protein source affect absorption of glucose and amino ac...
