A study was conducted to evaluate the effects of on performance, intestinal microflora and immunity function of broilers supplemented with mannan oligosaccharide. One thousand and two hundred eleven-day broilersof Guangdong lin nan-huang were randomly assigned to six treatments with four replicates. There were fifty broilers per replicate. Feed and water were provided ad libitum. All of broilers were fed with a common corn soybean meal based diet. Treatments were as follows: control (no Bio-MOS and no Falvomycin), Ig/kg Bio-MOS. 4mg/kg Flavomycin, Ig/kg Bio-MOS+4mg/kg Flavomycin, 0.5g/kg Bio-MOS and 1.5g/kg Bio-MOS. The results showed that:(1) Compared to the control group, the other groups had no significant improvement on average body weight, daily weight gain and feed intake, but higher than the control group. FCR was higher when Bio-MOS and Flavomycin were combined than alone.(2) Ig/kg Bio-MOS level of the diet significantly improved the concentration of bifidobacterium in cecum (p<0.05), not in ileum (p>0.05). Different levels of Bio-MOS in diet and different methods of the addition had no significant improvement on concentration of lactobacilli in cecum and ileum. There is no significantly decreased on concentration of E.coli in cecum.Specially, supplemented with 0.5g/kg Bio-MOS. the number of E.coli in ileum is few, except 0.5g/kg Bio-MOS. the other groups had no significantdifference on concentration of E.coli in ileum. There were no effect on pH in cecum and ileum among treatments (p>0.05).(3) Ig/kg Bio-MOS combined with 4mg/kg Flavomycin significantly improved relative weight of Thymus(p<0.05). not Spleen and Bursa Fabricii(p>0.05). Compared to the control group. Ig/kg Bio-MOS of the diet very significantly improved the percentage of T lymphocyte (p<0.01). Supplemented with Bio-MOS. there were significant difference on serumantibody litres to Newcastle disease virus(NDV) among treatments. 4mg/kg Flavomycin had significantly improved antibody titres to NDV compared to the control group (p<0.01). There were no difference among levels of Bio-MOS, but Ig/kg Bio-MOS was the most suitable. Bio-MOS combined with Flavomycin was significantly lower than Bio-MOS and Flavomycin alone. Supplemented with Bio-MOS, there were no significant difference on serum IgA, IgG, IgM (p>0.05) , but Ig/kg Bio-MOS is obviously higher than the other groups. Seen from the results of the trial, there was certain relative between Bio-MOS and Flavomycin when they were put in together, but their effects on broilers were less obvious than the only use of Bio-MOS did.In conclusion, supplemented with Bio-MOS, it improved performance, intestinal microflora and immunity function of broilers. It is probable for Bio-MOS as an alternative or an alternative in part to antibiotic.
