The present experiment was designed to study the possibility of inter-species nuclear transfer with goat somatic cell and rabbit oocyte. The findings were as follows:126 of 279 eggs reconstructed with Boer goat fibroblast as donor and rabbit Mil oocyte as recipient were successfully fused, the rate of fusion was 45.2%;while 72 of 113 reconstituted embryos cultured in vitro(5%CO2,38,100% humidity) cleaved, the rate of cleavage was 63.7%,consequently 11 developed to blastocyst stage, the proportion of that was 9.7%. These results also indicate that the fusion rate of eggs reconstituted with the 2nd passage cell as nuclear donor is lower significantly than those using the 5th and 6th passage as nuclear donor(22. 6% vs 52. 3% and 48. 9%;P<0. 05),but there is no significant difference in the rate of cleavage among these groups(85. 7% vs 60. 3% and 45. 5%;p>0. 05),however,the proportion of reconstituted embryos derived from the 2nd passage cell developing to blastocyst is significantly higher than those derived from the 5th passage (41. 7% vs 6. 38%;p<0. 05). there were no significant differences in the fusion rate, cleavage rate and blastocyst rate between eggs treated with fusion solution added with 7.5 u g/ml cytochalasin B(CB) and ones treated with CB-free fusion solution(p>0.05);the fusion rate of eggs using somatic cells stored at 4 4 days as donors is significantly lower compared withthose using cells stored at 4 2days or 3days,however,no significant difference was found in cleavage rate and blastocyst rate among them. All results of current research suggest that goat somatic cells could be reprogrammed in rabbit cytoplasm and support the idea that there was no species-specificity of cytoplasm's ability to direct somatic nuclear to undergo dedifferentiate and during the course of early development stage of those interspecies reconstituted embryos, cytoplasm was compatible to nuclear from interspecies.
