Combining ability analysis is essential for crossbreeding research. Because of the complexity of its theory and calculation, combining ability analysis must recur to computer .In this study, four SAS programes of combining ability analysis diall-cross design of Griffing' s breeding method 2 are successfully programmed by SAS statistical software devised by international standards. The first program is analysis of variance (ANOVA) of original data, combining ability anlysis for genotype significance. ANOVA of combining ability are carrieds out in the second and third programs. The fourth program solves combining ability effect estimation and its significance test. Genetic parameters of heritability etc.are estimated accordingly. In all the analysis process, SAS actualization of combining ability sum of squares and product comparison of combining ability effect estimation is pivotal and nodus. In order to cipher out sum of square and effect estimation of combining ability, transpose procedure, merge sentence and z=x + y, gi= (1/ (p+2 )) * (hi-2*zh/p)) , sij = xij - (hi+hj ) / (p+2) + 2*zh/ ( (p+1) * (p + 2) ) etc. transformations are applied in this study .New data gather and varieties are produced from original data to meet the analysis by using the sentences of keep, file, infile, put,set and so on.Multiple comparison of combining ability effect is carried outin SAS system by using fuctions of probf (f,dfl,df2), probt(t,dfe), tinv (p,df) and lag ( ) , transformations of LSD0.o5=ee*abs(tinv(px,dfe)), LSD0.01=ee*abs(tinv(pj ,dfe) ) , and conditional sentence of if, then. In the study, univariate combining ability anlysis diall-cross design of Griff ing' s breeding method 2 by using SAS programs is solved , an example of rice is also provided to illustrate the detailed SAS calculation. This method is universally suitable for combining ability analysis .
