Taking Zhongxian county as the example, we analyze and assess the current situation of agricultural landscape of Zhongxian county by applying landscape ecological principles, employing qualitative and quantitative analysis, then we plan and design the agricultural landscape of Zhongxian county.Firstly,we present the integrality principle, inlay stability principle, space-time scale and hierarchy principle and ecological cyernetics principle and point out their roles and positions in the ecological planning and designing on agricultural landscape.We mainly introduces the notion, connotation, principles and goal of the ecological planning and designing on agricultural landscape of county.Then ,taking Zhongxian county as the example, we analyze and evaluate the current situation of agricultural landscape in Zhongxian county from the ecology,economy and society.We analyze the agricultural ecology and environment situation from soil, air, water and geomorphy.According to the principle that the comparability of landform and cause of formation of inner sesection conformation and the difference of landform and cause of formation among sections, we divide the Zhongxian county agricultural landscape into 4 geomorphic areas. They are ( I )the mid-high hills along the river ; (II)the low hills in Bashan; (III) the high hills in middle area; (IV) the mid-low hills in the west-middle-south area. We also introduce the features of different areas.Applying the quantitative analysis and using the model which was pointed out by Professor Huang Bing-wei, we analyze the agricultural potential production of different geomorphic areas.The conclusions show that the soil potential production and the light temperature potential production of area I are biggest, and the area IVis the smallest in all of the areas.We analyze the production suitability of the agricultural production.We draw a conclusion as following: the area I is fit to plant rice, rape, mustard tuber, orange and etc. The area II is fit to plant rice, wheat, corn, rape, tobacco leaf and etc; the area III is fit to pant corn, wheat, sweet potato, rape and etc; the area IV is fit to plant pine, cypress, tea tree, tung tree and etc.When we analyze the human social system, we apply Mapinfo and use the quantitative analysis to analyze the agricultural landscape pattern from the porosity and general inlay.The results are that the cultivated land porosity of area II is the smallest in all of the areas, and the garden plot and the forest land porosity of area IVare the smallest in all of them.So the results show that the area II is fit to develop farming, and the area IVis fit to develop forestry and garden.From the analysis and discussion, we divide the Zhongxian county agricultural landscape into 4 functional areas. They are ( I )the mid-high hills grain and woods area along the river ; (II )the low hills farming area in Bashan; (III)the high hills grain animal husbandry area in the middle area ; (IV)the mid-low hills woods animal husbandry area in the west-middle-south area.
