Three experiments were conducted to compare the fermentation and fungi growthpattern between DFCCS-Ⅱ type dual flow continuous culture system and cattle rumen, andto evaluate the stability and validity of DFCCS-Ⅱtype dualflow continuous culture system. In the first experiment, the fermentation parameters, fungi growth, and predominantfungi`s shape in quantity were compared between In vitro and In vivo. The results show thatthe fermentation parameters and fungi growth In vitro were changed greatly at first threedays, then steady relatively on 4th to 8th days (P>0.05),and fluctuanted again after 9thdays.The predominant fung`s shape did not change from 1st to eleventh days.Thefermentation activity in this apparatus was inferior to that of cattle rumen. In the second experiment, the dynamic changes of the fermentation patterns and fungiamounts were studied by changing LDR (5.92%/h,11.78%/h,17,76%/h) of fermentors.Theresults indicated,as LDR increased, VFA and NH3-N concentrations and fungiamounts weredeclined, while pH value was increased. Steady fermentation periods and predominant fungiforms in different LDR were almost same, and similar to that of test one. In the third experiment, the effect of the ratio of concentrate to roughage ration onrumen fermentation, fungus amount and predominant fungi`s shape in quantity wereinvestigated. The results show,as concentrate in diet increased from 20% to40%,fermentation pattern was changed from acetate-propionate to propionate-acetate pattern, and fungi amounts and pH value were declined while VFA concentration was increased (P<0.05), there were no significant effects on NH3-N concentration (P>0.05), however, predominant fungus`s shape were changed significantly. In conclusion, DFCCS-Ⅱ type dual flow continuous culture system could be used tosimulate rumen fermentation in the relative steady period.
