The purpose of this paper was to study the morphological and biological characteristics of the geneus Pseudodactylogrus collecting from European eels, which were infected extensively, causing great economic lose in eel farming of Fujian province. Eggs were collected from pond's water in which eels were parasited by Pseudodactylogrus and were incubated with or without mucus of eels in room temperature, to observe the development of embryo and larva by microsope. Adult Pseudodactylogrus collected from gills of eels that were parasited were observed and photographed by SEM in detail. Speciments of adult Pseudodactylogrus from different areas of Fujian were measured by microsope and their spatial distribution and DNA finger mark were made by SSR-PCR. The results showed that:(1) Pseudodactylogrus bini( Kikuchi,1929) was mainly parasitized Anguilla anguilla in Luoyuan, Fuqing, Longyan and Youxi; Pseudodactylogrus anguillae(Yin et Sproston,1948) was distributed mainly in Jianning, Putian, Xianyou and Fuqing in Fujian province.(2) The biological characteristics of the eel pataste in the morphologies from the worm eggs to the adult, the embryo development of the worm eggs and the live history of the oncomiracidium were described. The SEM of the adults P. bini and P. anguillae were made.(3) the effect of hatching on the worm eggs after added eel's mucus was observated, and i proved that the mucus was important factor on hatching of the worm eggs of?, bini.(4) We also discovered that P. anguillae prefer to occupy the 1st gill arche after studingthe distrbution of adult P. anguillae and P. bini on gill arches.(5) 28 bands of were detected by SSR-PCR, the length ranges of bands were from 200 to 1030 bp. The average band were 7.3 ?.6. All the data obtained from examination of P. bini and P. anguillae with SSR-PCR were tested by cluster analysis. The result showed that the genetic similarity coefficients were 0.36-0.67 between P. bini and P. anguillae. The genetic diversity among P. bini and among P. anguillae related to geographic diversity in the areas of Fujian province. The differentiation of P. bini and P. anguillae which were collected in the morphology is relate to the SSR-PCR analysis.
