Effect Of Combination Of Hormones On Inducing Bitch Oestrus

Six hormone prescriptions were chosen in the experiment based on each exogenous hormone in common use to induce Group A (14 bitches), Group B (25 bitches) and Group C (50 bitches) oestrus. All the bitches were healthy and multiparous without remarkable disparities in nonbreeding season. Group A was used for the original selection of prescriptions, Group B was used for the selection of the prescriptions, and Group C was used for measuring of heating rate, conception rate and bearing rate for good using in clinic. In Group B, the Prescription VI (Tri-Combined Hormone FSH and LH-RH A3) was selected as the best one among the six ones. The bitches' behaviors, vaginal smears, the measurement of morphology changes in both vaginal, ovarian and uterin status, the slice of vaginas, ovaries and uteruses were observed and the measurement of concentrations of estradiol and progesterone in plasma were carried out in order to reveal the mechanism of the estrous induction in bitches using the prescription. The results showed as follows:1. The bitches entered proestrus phase on the day 6 after using the Prescription VI (Tri-Combined Hormone FSH LH-RH A3) and estrus on the day 13. Some apparent behavior in estrus such as labia swelling, vagina liquid droplet overhanged and the mucous membrane was ruddiness with blood and gauffer. Some bitches mounted each other.2. All the genital organs appeared in estrous after using the Prescription VI (Tri-Combined Hormone FSH and LH-RH A3). The weight of ovaries and the thickness of vagina wall had a significant changes (P0.01) and the lengh of the circumferences in the uterine horns and uterine bodies of uterine had a significant changes(P<0.05). The obvious changes were also seen in the slices of the genital organs under the light microscope.3 The concentrations of both estradiol and progesterone in plasma after using the Prescription (Tri-Combined Hormone FSH and LH-RH A3) reached the levels of natural estrus measured by means of radioimmunoassay(RIA).4 All the bitches administered the Prescription (Tri-Combined Hormone FSH and LH-RH A3) had more than 10 matural follicles and ovulation points.5 The heating rate reached 82.2%; the conception rate reached 64.4%, fetiferous rate arrived 53.3% after using the Prescription (Tri-Combined Hormone FSH and LH-RH A3).Graduate student: Wang QiangSpeciality: Clinical Veterinary MedicineSupervisor: Prof. Tian Wenru...
