| The experiment is based on the experience of the treatment in curing women's sterility and the report of inducing estrus in swine, cattle and sheep in veterinary clinics. Twelve kind of Chinese herbal medicine are screened out and composed five group Chinese herbal medicines. Then each group of medicine were feed to forty mice. The most effective group of the herb medicine was screened out according to the response of the mice's reproductive system, and then it was applied to the healthy canines which were in the stage of anoestrus.Four millilitre decocted Chinese herbal medicine was feed to each canine through out twenty days. The change of canine's behaviour appearance and vagina lymph was observed daily. The result indicated: after seven days of feeding by the compound Chinese herbal medicine ten canines were observed vaginal bleeding . Red blood cells are present in large numbers in the vaginal smear at the same time; After fourteen days, vagina! bleeding increased and it's color changed to red and it's density decreased. The vaginal epithelium become cormified. Uterine slice revealed that uterine epithelium became edema. Several uterine glands in different size on the surface of the uterine are in different shapes. Follicular cavity appeared in the ovarian slice and it's diameter increased. Twenty days later, the vaginal epithelium became cormified completely. The cell nuclear became small in size. Uterine slice revealed that endometrium increased in thickness and became concave. The uterine gland proliferated and changed it's form in size. Large follicles appeared in the ovarian slice and were up to 2 to 3mm in diameter.The gestation rate of the canines with induced estrus was finally proved to be 80% in this experiment (4/5), which is the approximate rate of canines with spontaneous estrus.
