In this experiment, three common tomato inbreds and three cherry tomato inbreds with fourteen hybrids breded with them were studied to find the heterosis performance hybrids between common tomato and cherry tomato, the genetic analysis on quantitative characters were also studied, the aim was to provide theoretical base to tomato breeding. The results were as follows:1.Heterosis performances of F1 hybrids between common tomato and cherry tomato indicated that yield per plant, early yield per plant and plant morphological characters showed obvious heterosis, total soluble solids, titrable acid and vitamin C showed positive heterosis whereas their heterosis indexes were not high, almost all other characters showed negative heterosis. Dominant degree analysis showed the similar results.Variance coefficients were low of total soluble solids, index of the fruit shape, node of first anthotaxy, period from transplanting to first fruit setting, period from transplanting to first harvesting, the diameter of stem, the length of max. leaf , the width of max. leaf whereas that of other characters were high; this indicated that differences of heterosis performances between different combinations were significant. Correlation analysis between parents and hybrids indicated that their parents at different level affected the performances of hybrid characters. The studied on respiratory indicated that F1 hybrids between common tomato and cherry tomato have low respiratory rate, and they could have long shelf life. 2.The correlation analysis indicated: The genetic correlation of early yield per with yield per plant is extremely significant level, which means the aims of earliness selecting and high yield selecting are consistent in tomato breeding. The genetic correlation of yield per plant with fruit weight, fruit number per plant, flower number per plant, total soluble solids, titrable acid, pericarp thickness, ASI, fruit number in early stage, fruit weight in early stage, the height of plant, the diameter of stem, the length of max. leaf are significant or extremely significant. These characters (or through other characters) have some important effect on yield per plant. Path analysis further indicated: fruit weight, percentage of fruit setting, total soluble solids, early yield per plant, fruit weight in early stage, the diameter of stem and the height of plant are also the important factors affecting yield per plant. These characters can be used as selecting characters of yield breeding.Canonical correlation analysis indicated: correlation degree between yield characters with early maturity characters was highest in 0.01 level, secondly was yield characters with quality characters, cumulative correlation proportions of two characters groups achieved 99.45% and 99.40%. Cumulative correlation proportions of early maturity characters with plant morphological characters, quality characters with plant morphological characters and quality characters with early maturity characters were 94.21%, 91.20% and 89.30% respective, cumulative correlation proportions of yield characters with plant morphological characters was the smallest, which was 80.65%.3.Principal component analysis show: In all component of yield characters, the principal components fruit number per plant and percentage of fruit setting take 90.48% of the total information. In all component of quality characters, the principal components total soluble solids and pericarp thickness take 80.96%of the total information. In all component of early maturity characters, the principal components period from transplanting to first harvesting, fruit number in early stage and node of first anthotaxy take 90.20% of the total information. In all component of plant morphological characters, the principal components the height of plant, the width of max. leaf and the diameter of stem take 87.52%of the total information. Through the factor pattern of main characters in component and the correlation of main characters with the aim characters, we can determine...
