To investigate the effect of cane sugar in the diet on performance, feed intake, nutrient digestibility and blood sugar of weaned pigs, two growth trials and one digestibility trial were conducted. In the first experiment,48 crossbred weaned pigs ( average initial weight 17.56kg ) were divided into 4 groups,3 replicates each group. The 3 diets were designed with the same nutrient ingredients. The last diets were formed by supplementation of compound enzyme addition and acidifier addition, reduced approximately 10% crude protein (CP) level and main essential amino acids (EAA).The 4 diets were assigned to 4 groups. The experiment lasted 28 days. In term of the results, 3 diets were designed in the second growth trial.45 crossbred weaned pigs aged 35 days were divided into 3 diets,3 replicates each group. Experiment 3 was a digestibility trial conducted to determine the apparent digestibility of dry matter, gross energy and dietary CP of pigs fed the 3 diets in the second experiment. The results showed:1. Pig fed the diets containing cane sugar ate faster than ever. Cane sugar would tend to increase feed intake.2. With the same nutrient ingredients, 3% sugar replaced 2%~3% dried whey addition would tend to reduce the cost of ingredients and improve piglets' performance.3. The diets containing supplementation of compound enzyme and acidifier, can reduce about 10% CP and EAA and improve the daily gain and decrease diarrhea rate.4. With the same nutrient ingredients, the diets had no effect on the apparent digestibility of dry matter, gross energy and dietary CP.
