The cultivation of Chinese shrimp larvae become more difficult because of the happening of disease in Chinese shrimp, so the releasing number reduced greatly and the yield of catching for the releasing shrimp descended in successive years. The researchers made an experiment on the transplanting and releasing of Penaeus vannamei in Jiaozhou Bay on June. 20, 2003. and they released about 1. 3 million Penaeus vannamei in Jiaozhou Bay which the body-length was about 3cm. The average body-length of the releasing shrimp is 3.13 cm, and the average body-weight is 0.309g. This paper makes an investigation on the migration growth characteristics and recapture rate of the Penaeus vannamei, and the result shows that it is compatible for the releasing of Penaeus vannamei in Jiaozhou Bay. It mainly dispersed in the shallow water zone where the water depth is less than 5m, that is around Hongdao the estuarine of Dagu river. The growth speed is very quick. With the declining of water temperature in September, Penaeus vannamei migrate from shallow water to the deep water. The fisherman began to recapture the Penaeus vannamei from August 20 to September 30, the average body-length of which is 13.97cm, the body-weight is 35.51g and the recapture rate is about 12. 35%.This paper handled the body-length and body-weight data of Penaeus vannamei , and output the relations between the body-length and body-weight, get the equations of growth and growth speed of Penaeus vannamei as follows:Female: W=0. 0102L3'"866, R2=0. 9962Lt=22.8.[l-e-009638X
