More than a hundred million tons of urban waste is generated every year in China. The occurrence of disposal and utilization of waste compost is much earlier in China than other countries. Many studies indicate urban waste compost can improve the fertility of soil. However, it contains heavy metal and other poisonous substances, which affects its application in agriculture. Urban waste compost used as fertilizer for lawn has been little reported in China till now. Waste compost and its compound fertilizers, which are used for lawn growth, can not only solve waste compost outlet problems, but also promote urban lawn development. This study mainly reported the ecology effect of urban waste compost and its compound fertilizers used in turf. Pot experiment was done that urban waste compost and its compound fertilizers according to different fertilizing quantity to establish turf-grass. The influences of the turf fertilizing treatment on soil physical and chemical characters, grass speeding and grass quality were analyzed to find the best fertilizing treatment in the medium. The influences of the turf fertilizing treatment on the contents of heavy metals in soils and grass were studied. Then, leaching characteristics and environmental effects of the soil of the best treatment under different rainfall intensity, duration and turf coverage were studied. Finally, a comprehensive assessment system of turf quality was proposed. The pot experiment was composed of six treatments: including control, chemical fertilizer, waste compost, waste compound fertilizer 1, waste compound fertilizer 2 and waste compound fertilizer 3. Each treatment had three fertilizer rates (high, middle and low). Perennial ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum L.cv, Barmultra) was planted in the soil. The results indicated urban waste compost and its compound fertilizers could improve soil physical feature and alter soil heavy clay character. At the same time, it could decrease soil pH value, enhance soil properties, such as contents of organic matter, total N, total P and available N. It could improve soil fertility obviously. The soil fertility was improved highest under compound fertilizer 1 treatment. Urban waste compost fertilizer could enhance over-ground as well as under-ground ryegrass biomass, ameliorated turf greenness and the turf uniformity, improved the turf density and quality, and accelerated the nitrogen absorption of ryegrass especially in the later growth of ryegrass. The leaf color was deep green and chlorophyll content was remarkably higher than other treatments. Considering this fact mentioned above, the middle fertilizer treatment of compound fertilizer 1 was better for ryegrass turf. It could bring the turf highest density, higher over-ground biomass, nitrogen and chlorophyll content. The turf quality reached the first-class level. The heavy metals in soils were determined after ryegrass was harvested. The results indicated after using urban waste compost and its compound fertilizers, the heavy metals in soils were remarkably different comparing to CK. The heavy metals in soils under different urban waste compost treatments were remarkably different comparing to corresponding waste compound fertilizers treatment. The amplitude of heavy metals in soils under different waste compound fertilizer 1 treatments was the least. Besides content of Cu under the highest fertilizing quantity of waste compost exceeded the first standard of soil environment, the others were less than the first standard of soil environment. The soils could not be contaminated. The content of heavy metals in grass under different waste compost was higher than corresponding treatments of waste compound fertilizers. The amplitude of heavy metals in grass under different waste compound fertilizer 1 treatments was the least. This indicated using waste compound fertilizer in soils was safer than waste compost.Leaching characteristics and environmental effects of the soil of the best treatment under different rainfall intensity(90 rnrn/h, 120mm/h), duration(30minutes> 60minuteSN 90m...
