The 21 sugarbeet varieties were studied in indexes of shape and photosynthetic properties in the first part of the paper. The result of regression analysis during four different period show that leaf area growth rate and stomatal conductance have significantly positive correlation with sugar content but transpiration rate has negative correlation. Transpiration rate and leaf dry weight have significantly positive correlation with yield, but the leaf area growth rate during the second and fourth period have negative correlation with yield. This validate the conclusion that sugar content always has negative correlation with yield. Furthermore, the result of cluster analysis may contribute to the research of germplasm resource. The second part of this paper ,The Foreign Gene of transgenic potato was analysis by PCR ,Dot-blot and Southern blot,The gene was existed stably in the three asexual propagated offspring of the transgenic potato. In addition , the ribozyme gene cloned in plasmid pAZ that cleaving PLRV was used,Transcription in vitro experiment revealed a ribozyme RNA was obtained.
