As a part of the study project of national natural science fund, the project for further research focus on the general law of agricultural fibrous materials as per opening compression theory, the law that compression velocity influences compression process were carried out. Depending on the frequency conversion control and measuring technology, an experimental study of compression process was conducted for corn stalks with moisture content of 60% on the 9KG-350 remade model high density baler. Based on the data of experiment and computer, a analysis was carried out for the changing law of compression velocity and the influence of compression velocity on parameters of the compression process, having acquired the reasonable changing law of compression velocity in single compression process. On the basis of experimental data, a comparison was performed for the law that compression velocity changed in different compression processes as well as the law that different compression velocity influenced the parameters of the compression process. A comprehensive analysis on productivity of baler and the power consumption in different compression processes was carried out, having determined optimal compression velocity in the range of experiment. The experimental study on the effect of compression velocity advanced a theoretical basis for enriching compression theory and the optimum design of the baler.
