Experiment were carried out in year 2003 and 2004 at sugar industry center of Guangxi University , which included the bucket planting and slot planting .The bucket planting included two factors, they were the application of water-holding agent and without the application of water-holding agent, included six treatments, they were A1B1 , A2B1 , A1B2 , A2B2 , A1B3 , A2B3 respectively , among them, A1 meaned 15 kg/666. 7m2 water-holding agent was used at planting stage , A2 meaned without the application of water-holding;it was the control of A1, B1 meaned normal water supplement, B2 meaned the drought-resistance, B3 meaned the drought-resistance at tillering stage. Bucket planting experiment researched the influence of water-holding agent on sprout characters, relative physiolog characters. The slot planting experiment included two factors and five treatments, they were A, B, C, D and CK respectively,15 kg/666. 7m2 water-holding agent of A, B, C were used at planting stage, early-tillering phase, early-elongation stage respectively, they all were suffered drought-resistance for 90 days; water-holding agent were applied to the treatment of D,but not CK. water was supplied at the whole period. throught analysis ,results were as follows:1. 15 kg/666. 7m2 water-holding agent was used at planting stage, tillering stage, growth stage, which can keep the soil with more watercontent for a long time. Under the condition of slot-planting , water was supplied only once at July(correspond with the 40 mm water content of rainfall), soil water content was analysied after 56 days , the treatment of A was higher 1. 78%( absolute value) than D, the treatment of B was 1. 70% higher than D, the treatment of C was 3.04% higher than D, compared with D, the soil water content of A, B, C increased 12. 16%—21. 75%.2. The application of water-holding agent at the planting stage, which could raise seedling rate, the seedling rate of A1 was higher 4. 17%~6. 95% (absolute value) than A2In seedling high , false stem, seedling roots number, dry weight of stems and leaves, dry weight of roots, all of these, Al was better than A2. particularly under the condition that drought-resistance , the roots and seeding number of Al was obvious higher than A23. The application of water-holding agent, which can alleviate the influence of the drought-resistance to the elongation of sugarcane, during the time of drought-resistance, the average growth speed of A, B,C, D were 11.3 cm/ten days, 11.0 cm/ten days, 12. 0 cm/ten days and 10. 2 cm/ten days respectively, the average growth speed of CK was 15. 0 cm/ten days , the growth speed of A, B, C, D were 3.7 cm/ten days, 4.0 cm/ten days, 3.0 cm/ten days and 4.8 cm/ten days lower than CK respectively. The application of water-holding agent could alleviate the influence of drought-resistance to stem-length and decrease losing.4. The application of water-holding could alleviate the drought-resistance, under the environment of drought-resistance, The application of water-holding could decelerate the leaves water content,decrease the MDA content, improve chlorophyll content.5. The application of water-holding could decrease the influence of drought-resistance on the sugar cane yield,and improved the sugarcane quality , during the periodd of 8—10 month, water was stopped from suppling for 90 days .compared with CK, the treatments of A, B, C, D decreased the sugarcane yield of per acre by 13. 18%, 12. 65%, 10. 54% and 20. 30% respectively, between A, B, D and CK, the yield diversity of them reached 1%, the yield diversity of CK and C reached 5% .compared with D ,the treatments of A, B, C raised the sugarcane yield of per acre by 8. 9%, 9. 6% and 12.2%, the yield diversity of C and D reached 5%.6.In the sucrose sugarcane, from November to January , compared with the treatment of D, the average sucrose sugarcane of A, B, C raised 0.61% (absolute value ) , 0. 54% and 0. 96% respectively. raised sucrose yield of per acre byl2. 81%, 13. 96% and 19.93% respectively, the sucrose yield diversity of them reached 1% leve...
