Monitoring Dog Gestation On The Belly Surface And Diagnosing Obstetrical Diseases With B-mode Ultrasonography

The purpose of this experiment was to set up a series of B ultrasonic audio video image at different stages of foetus development, and to monitor relevant obstetrical diseases on the basis of detecting the disciplinarian of foetus normal growing development. In order to prove the accurancy of B-mode ultrasonic shows, 14 bitches were dissected as test. Measured relevant data were compared with ones that the images provided. When the experiment was done, basic investigations were done on security of using B-mode ultrasound.On the basis of B-mode ultrasonic image, 3.5MHz scanner on the body surface was used to monitore 40 gestational Labrador dogs. The pregnancy situation and the embryo's growth were monitored, and the first time to find out the outside structure of embryo, embryo appearance and the inner structure of embryo were recorded. The results showed that the first time of measuring gestational sac, fetus heart beating and placenta were 18d, 23d and 31d, respectively. The intact skeletal system on earliest 36d, and most viscera organs could be determined on 37d. The foetal sex cannot be discriminated or judged by 3.5MHz scanner accurately, and fetal numbers is difficult to be determined.To prove the accuracy of B-mode ultrasound in measurement on body surface, 14 pregnant bitches were chosen specially to dissect. After the random mating of the bitches, cesarean section was made on designed day. The foetal numbers, the foetal length and weight of body were measured; the foetal shape was noted. The data from operation were compared with ones B-mode ultrasound shows.B-mode ultrasound is applied to diagnose dog's disease clinically, and is used to monitor effectively some obstetrical diseases. The Labrador dogs with the obstetrical diseases were chosen at random, and B-mode ultrasonography images of some diseases were recorded. B-mode ultrasonic image can show characteristics of those diseases, such as endometritis,stillbirth, abortion, pyometra, gas-swollen foetus and foetal deformity, and so on. B-mode ultrasound could be used to distinguish diseases, and to conduct the natural and quantitative analysis of the diseases by analysing their position, size and form, when diagnosing. B-mode ultrasound was also used to diagnose definitely canine pyometra or mucomerta at most times clinically, the rate of accuracy can be up to 100%. B-mode ultrasound is used as monitor parturition, and can also monitor the postpartum uterine nivolution.In order to find out whether B-mode ultrasound has bad influence on canine, investigation has been gone on bitches, which had been monitored by B-mode ultrasound in gestational period, and their puppys(n=15). Observing parturition and puppys development. Bitches (n=30) without monitoring and their puppys (n=15) in control groups. 3.5MHz scanner on the body surface monitored the bitches, for 5min once, once for 5 days, harmful effects have not been found.With the development of study on small animal diseases, ultrasonography is applied extensively at clinic medicine and becomes one of the most important auxiliary diagnosis methods. B-mode ultrasonography is not only used as appearance diagnosis, and is also used to monitor physiological function at the same time. To ascertain the organs position and anatomical relationship with some organs tisses, and to study anatomical changes at gestation, and then to familiarize the normal audio video image, are foundations ultrasonography is used to diagnose clinically.' Through the research practices of this experiment,' the rules were summarized on B-mode ultrasonic image of foetal development during the gestation of Labrador dog. Analyses to the typical symptom B ultrasonic image of common obstetrical disease on clinic have been done. Experiences of clinical diagnosis of canine diseases were enriched.
