The aim of this trial is to study the effects of different rearing pattern on body quality and lipometabolism of broilers. two hundred and seventy male hetian broilers were fed with three patterns including caged, floor-reared and extensive. Three treatments with 20 broilers per group were designed in each pattern. The other 270 femal broilers were conducted in the same way as male. All broilers were slaughtered at 4 w-8 w, 9 w-12 w, 13 w-16 w respectively, and was fed the same diet. Carcasses quality, biochemical parameters of serum, composition of muscle nourishment, activity of fatty acids synthetase (FAS) and malic enzyme (ME) were determined. The results indicated that: There were no significant effect on the body quality of 8 weeks male broilers (p>0.05), but floor-reared and extensive could significant increased percentage of breast muscle of 8 weeks female broilers, decreased subcutaneous fat depth (p<0.05), intramuscular fat depth (p<0.05) and percentage of abdominal fat (p<0.05) of 8 weeks female broilers. floor-reared and extensive could obvious increased percentage of eviscerated (p<0.05), percentage of half eviscerated(p<0.05) and breast muscle rate of 12, 16 weeks broilers, decreased subcutaneous fat depth(p<0.05), intramuscular fat depth(p<0.05) and percentage of abdominal fat (p<0.05) of 12, 16 weeks female broilers. Floor-reared and extensive of rearing pattern could obvious improved carcass quality and increased deposit fat of broilers. There were no significant effect on the serum biochemical parameters of 8 weeks male broilers (p>0.05), but extensive could obvious increased serum the rate of high density lipoprotein /Cholesterol (H/C ) (p<0.05)and free triiodo-Thyronine (FT3)(p<0.05) , decreased serum the level of Insulin(INS) (p<0.05) of 8 weeks female broilers , extensive could significant increased serum the level of H/C (p<0.05) and FT3 (p<0.05), decreased serum the level of INS (p<0.05) and low density lipoprotein(LDL)(p<0.05) of 12, 16 weeks broilers , floor-reared and extensive could obvious increased serun the level of free thyroxine (FT4) of 16 weeks femal broilers, there were no significant effect sersum the level of cholesterol, tri-glyceride in each period(p>0.05). There were no significant effect on the composition of muscle nourishment in 8, 16 weeks broilers (p>0.05). There were no significant effect activity of FAS and ME of livers in 16 weeks male broilers (p>0.05), but there were significant effect activity of FAS and ME of livers in 16 weeks female broilers (p<0.05), floor-reared and extensive could obvious decreased activity of FAS (p<0.05), and increased activity of ME of livers in 16 weeks broilers. Effects of carcass quality and lipometabolism with different rearing pattern were depended on sex and age of broilers. Female broilers were affected obviously much more than male broilers in the study, and were influenced distinctly with the growth of femal broilers.
