The experiment was conducted to study the effect of vitamin E deficiency on pathological and hematological changes of juvenile Jian Carp (Cyprinus carpio Var. Jian).In trial, 264 juvenile Jian carps (initial weight 7.78±0.02g) were randomly allocated to 2 groups feeding the semi-purified diet containing vitamin E 4 or 97mg/kg respectively for 70days.Results indicated that, some deficiency symptoms such as skin depigmentation, exophthalmia, apparent muscular dystrophy , marked loss of flesh in the back and abdomen flab were observed in juvenile Jian carps fed diet lack of VE, During trail. Clinic anatomise showed that whole viscus colour and lustre gray, ceroid, liver surface lucency, dropsy, but no extravasate appeared in carp fed diet lack of VE.Symptoms such as hepatocyte tumefaction, grain denaturalization, vacuolation, focal necrosis, hepatocyte splinter, cell plasm escape , karyon pyknosis and cataclasm were observed on the pathological histological section. The pathological changes of kidney were vacuolation in the the adrenal gland cell around head kidney vein , dilation and gore of parenchyma vein antrum. The spleen took on dilation, gore , lymphocyte count decrease,ferric flavin aggradation in parenchyma, degeneration of spleen marrow cell ,necrosis, hyperplasia intercellular substance of spleen, macrophage licked up a great deal eyewinker. In addition, the pancreas appreaed denaturalization,putrescence and atrophy ,pancreas cell amount significantly decreased. Muscle pathological changes were muscle fibers denaturalization, putrescence , atrophy, rupture, fined , significant enlargement of the muscle fibers interspaces, stripe slur or disappearance ,plasm curdle. There were lots of lymphocyte, neutrophil leucocyte, monocyte, erythrocyte soakaged in the interspaces of fibers.In summary, some deficiency symptoms such as skin depigmentation, exophthalmia, apparent muscular dystrophy , marked loss of flesh in the back and abdomen flab were observed in juvenile Jian carps fed diet lack of VE. The pathologic changes of tissue and cell trauma such as hepatopancreas, spleen, head kidney, muscle, were observed.
