The effects of herbal extract on growth performance and pork quality of finishing pigs were investigated 180 Landrace X Large white barrows (60kg of body weight) were randomly assigned to four treatments. Each treatment included 45 pigs that were subdivided equally to five pens. Treatments consisted of a control and three tests. At the beginning and end of experimental, pigs were weighed and two pigs per pen were slaughtered to measure pork quality. Average daily feed intake, body weight changes, and ratio of gain to feed were determined. Average daily gains (ADG) for trial 1, 2 and 3 were increased 4.83% (PO.05), 3.41% (P>0.05) and 8.84% (P<0.05), respectively, over control. Similarly, the ratios of feed to gain in the three trials were respectively decreased by 5.14% (P<0.05), 0% (P>0.05) and 5.43% (P<0.05). Incidences of a disease in the three tests were decreased by 48.9% (PO.05), 53.5% (PO.05) and 17.3% (PO.05), respectively. The results showed that three herbal extracts did not affect dressing percentage (P>0.05), but increased lean percentage by 2.27%, 3.95% and 2.98%, and decreased leaf fat by 12.31%(p<0.05), 9.23%(p<0.05) and 18.46%(p<0.05), respectively. Lion-eye area in herbal extracts treatments were increased by 0.58%(P>0.05), 2.61%(P>0.05) and 12.99%(p<0.05), and average backfat thickness were decreased by 4.13% (P<0.05) , 13.22%(p<0.05) and 2.06%(P>0.05). herbal extract improved pork quality. In summary, herbal extract could improve ADG and feed conversion efficiency, decrease incidence of disease, increase lean percentage and lion-eye area, decrease backfay thickness, improve pork quality.
