The effects of EM being used in diets on the growth and muscle nutrient composition of M.albus and the effects of EM being used in the waters of M.albus cultured on the pH, dissolved oxygen(DO), NO-3-N, NO-2-N, NH + 4-N, total phosphorus(TP),COD and BOD were studied in this paper. The main results and conclusion summarized as follows:1. The growth of Monopterus albus which fed on different EM content diets were different, with the increase of EM content in the diets, the growth of M. albus increased. When EM content in the diets were 2.0%,the growth of M. albus got the maximum .and it could decrease the feed coefficient to use EM in the diets.2. EM could affect the muscle nutrient composition of M albus. Protein content and fat content in the muscle of M. albus could change after M. albus fed on different EM content diets. EM could increase protein content and decrease fat content, when EM content in the diets got 3.0%,the changes were significant. But EM could not affect the content and component of amino acids in the muscle .3. After EM were used in the waters which M. albus were cultured in ,the value of pH could change, the value of pH got the highest after 7 days when EM were used.4. It could affect dissolved oxygen(DO) content to use EM in the waters which M. albus were cultured in, the content of DO increased significantly after 5 days when EM were used, and the content of DO got the maximum after 7 days when EM were used.5. It could decrease the content of NO-3-N, NO-2-N and NH+ 1-N significantly to use EM in the waters which M. albus were cultured in. The content of them began to decrease after 3 days when EM were used, the content of them got the minimum after 7 days when EM were used .6. It could decrease BOD and COD significantly to use EM in the waters which M. albus were cultured in. COD got the minimum after 7 days when EM were used, and BOD got the minimum after 9 days when EM were used.7. It could decrease the content of TP significantly to use EM in the waters which M. albus were cultured in. the content of TP got the minimum after 9 days when EM were used.
