The pest occurred in the plant of urban greenland has made huge economy losses to the city greening and affected greatly the greening and beautify of the greenland, which is the important factor to hinder the construction of city ecology. In order to investigate the community structure of insects and the integrated management of main pest in greenland, different plots were selected according to Baoding city's different type of greenland, in Baoding city, Hebei province, and several methods by using hand, net, attraction and shaking the trees were used to collect insects systematically in the plot. The species of insects and the characteristics of their habitat were investigated and recorded; Different kinds of characteristic index of insect community were calculated and the relationships between the insect diversity and ecological factors were analyzed as well. The insect's habitat and their niche were analyzed and studied by cluster analysis using software Data Processing System. Anoplophora glabripennis was taken as the target pest to investigate its occurrence circumstance in city greenland, and control countermeasures was proposed.During the investigation in Baoding city, 101 species of insect and 8 species of spider were identified, which belong to 57 and 4 families, respectively. There is great difference between suburban and urban in species composing and richness. The types of both regions are similar in degrees of complication of insect composing, while the number of insect species is more in suburban than that in urban. The variety of insects community is obviously different between the urban and the suburban in three seasons, such as late spring and early summer, summer, late summer and early autumn. The species number of urban insects community is the highest in July, whereas the highest species number of suburban insects community occurred September. By the comparison of the character index of insect in both regions in the whole year, a conclusion can be drawn that the insect community diversity index and evenness index in suburban (3.3023, 0.72857) are more than that of urban (2.86264, 0.64961). Through variance analysis, the index between two regions has reached significant difference. The above-mentioned research results matched the following pattern: suburban belongs to ecotone and study of ecotone indicates that it has richer biodiversity, more special edge species and higher productivity.In three seasons, diversity, evenness and dominant concentrator are nearly matching with the whole insects community of the whole year, which completely shows that the insect community structure of the suburban is more stable than urban, and the ability of natural control to the pest is stronger.
