With the trial demonstration and development of mechanization conservation tillage system, the study on no-tillage planter has made progress. But because of having no technical qualification of no-tillage planter in domestic machine industry, there are many problems on its manufacture, evaluation and application. In order to fill up this blank, cooperating with Shanxi Agricultural machinery experimental evaluation station, we have made thorough experimental study on the performance evaluation indexes and method of the 2BMF serial wheat no-tillage planters, which are used extensively in Shanxi Province presently. The aim is to set up the standard to evaluate the performance of no-tillage planter. The content of this paper is a part of this project. According to the principle of making evaluation indexes of machine performance, five indexes that passing ability, seeding uniformity, covering soil ability, deep eligibility and seed-fertilizer space eligibility are presented on the basis of experiments and consultation. Meanwhile, their meaning and mensuration are expounded, and their weights determined with the AHP method. Through dual-factor experiment we design eight experiment treatments in different land-surface conditions of wheat no-tillage planter. Five indexes are generalized by using gray statistics, eight experiment treatments are classified and the reference values of every index are educed by using gray clustering. The sequence of emergence of seeding rate and tiller number affected by every index is elicited respectively by gray correlation degree analysis. This paper provides the reference method and theoretic basis for evaluating the performance of wheat no-tillage planters.
