In this paper, the present conditions and the main problem of the existences of the plastic film residue collecting and its collector machine are analyzed. Based on the study on the 4JSM—1800 type cotton stem-cutting and plastic film residue-collecting teamwork machine, the study on the key work parts of the machine cylinder applying visualized virtual design, finite element analysis, optimization and simulation technologies are conducted. Field investigation has been carried out to provide important references for the structure techniques and parameter design of the plastic film residue-collecting cylinder. For these purposes, mainly from following study on several aspects are conducted in this paper. 1. Researches have been carried out on the kinematics, dynamics and technologic parameters of the cylinder working parts—Arc spring-finger using the machine movement principle for the arc spring-finger 's plastic film residue picking-up. The rule of the arc spring-finger 's movement track and the velocity, which plastic film residue relatives to the arc spring-finger, has been gained using MATLAB simulation. 2. On the basis of the UG NX and ANSYS software, the research on the static structural strength and technologic structure of the arc spring-finger components and the cylinder camshaft using virtual design method are carried out. 3. The static and dynamic stress tests and analysis of the cylinder camshaft provided important references for the movement, structural strength and technologic parameters of the plastic film residue-collecting cylinder. 4. Continuing to research on iBone—a new topology optimization method, which has been applied to the arc spring-finger's optimization and contrast its result with the factual structure.
