Ecological Adaptation Evaluation And Use-Selcet Of Several Varieties Of Cool-Season Turfgrass

The trial about contrasting of traits of 96 varieties of cool-season turfgrass was arranged on Shandong Forest Tree Breeding Center 1999.10-2001.10. By evaluation of seeding vigor, genetic color, leaf texture, rate cover, disease tolerance, green day, percent living ground cover, quality rating, the result showed: Varieties which they could tolerant more strongly are: 'Millennium', 'Excalibur', 'Gooden', 'Crossfire IT, 'Great Wall TF' and 'Regiment' from Tall Fescue; 'Sonata', 'Panther' and 'Premier â…¡ ' from Perennial Ryegrass; 'Impact', 'Midnight', 'NuGlade' ,'Odyssey' and ' America' from Kentucky Bluegrass and so on. Varieties that have better Quality rating are: 'Millennium' , 'Excalibur' , 'Gooden' , 'Crossfire â…¡' , 'Great Wall TF' and 'Regiment' from Tall Fescue; 'Panther', 'Premier â…¡', 'Secretariat', 'Baron' and 'Lp95-1' from Perennial Ryegrass; 'Nottingham','Midnight' , 'Odyssey' , 'America' and 'Impact' from Kentucky Bluegrass;'ProCup' from Bentgrass. Analysising above data by weighting analysis, we can find adaptive varieties to different turfgrass. 'Midnight' , 'Impact' , 'NuGlade' ,'Odyssey', 'Award' from Kentucky Bluegrass, 'Panther', 'Palmer â…¡', 'Gator â…¡' , 'Paragon' , 'Lp95-1' , 'Premier â…¡' from Perennial Ryegrass, 'Crossfire â…¡' , 'Shenandoah', 'Millennium' from Tall Fescue and 2 varieties from Bentgrass are adaptive park-view-turfgrass; 'Midnight', 'Impact', 'NuGlade', 'Odyssey','Award', 'Dragon' from Kentucky Bluegrass, 'Panther', 'Palmer â…¡', 'Gator â…¡', 'Paragon', 'Premier â…¡ ' from Perennial Ryegrass, 'Shenandoah', 'Crossfire â…¡' from Tall Fescue and 'Highland' , 'ProCup' from Bentgrass are good usingyard-virescence-turfgrass; Tall Fescue is the best choice to establishment-turfgrass because they need less management and have stronger tolerance, 'Shenandoah' ,'Phoenix' , 'CrossfireII' , 'Millennium' , 'Cortez' , 'Southern Choice' and 'Houndog5' can be better adapted. Moreover, Tall Fescue, Perennial Ryegrass and Kentucky Bluegrass can be blended seeding.
