In this paper , the author extracted the root of Stellera chamaijasme L. with anhydrous ethanol, and made gradient extraction from it with different solvents. Daphneantoxin was obtained from the n-hexane and chloroform by a series of methods such as TLC, normal phase LCC, reverse phase LCC, HPLC, activation analysis.Daphneantoxin was tested for contact toxicity. The result obviously showed that LC50 was 232.1 mg/L against, 373.0 mg/L against , 252.89 mg/L against , 734.32 mg/L against.Through observing the poisoning symptom and behavior of Aphis treated with Daphneantoxin, we found that symptom was similar with neurotoxin. By advanced research on effect of carboxylesterase and acetylcholinesterase, we found that Daphneantoxin had better inhibitory activity. When diluted the Daphneantoxin at a concentration of 5 × 103 mg/L by acetone, the rate of inhibitory were 56% against carboxylesterase, 70% against acetylcholinesterase. Through observation of the poisoning symptom, we preliminarily conjectured acetylcholinesterase of the insect's nervous system as one of the Daphneantoxin's targets.
