The attempt has been made to better understand the past-hatch of growth and development and therelationship between expression of IGF-â… genes and growth performance in Zigoose. Taking Rhin ascontrol, we measured the body weight at different period and analyzed the difference in growth.. Usingreverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) we determined IGF-â… gene expression indifferent ages in liver , tissues at D30 and analyzed the relationship between the differences of geneexpression and growth performance. The results are as follows:1. Zigoose's body weights in past-hatch three weeks were higher than others weeks. Relative bodyweights were 1.28,1.28 and 0.73 , respectively. The change of daily gain at the age of 6 weeks is 54.04g.Rhin's body weights in past-hatch tow weeks were higher. Relative body weight were 1.640 and 0.715,respectively. The change of daily gain at the age of 6 weeks is 70.26g.And it is dramatically higher inRhin than Zigoose from 1 week to 7 weeks and dramatically lower than those from 8 weeks to 12weeks. 2. Serum IGF-â…  concentrations were relatively higher from hatch to 4w.,which was consistent withrapid growth of the goose. It was significantly higher in Zigoose than in Rhin at D1, and significantlower at D15 and low at D45 D60 and D90. The highest concentration of serum 3,5,3'-triodothyronine(T3)was at hatch. then dropped. The changes of the serum T3 concentration were significant between D90and other days (p<0.05). and concentrations of T3 in Zigoose was significant higher than in Rhin atD1 and then it lowers from D15 to D90(p<0.05). The concentration of 3,5,3',5'-tetraiodothyronine(T4) was lower at hatch period, then ascended and descended, which was in accordance with theweight gain of the Zigoose, reversed with T3.There was no difference in tow lines.3. IGF-â… gene was cloned successfully and submitted to GenBank.The search number isDQ490222.4.Time differential character of IGF-â… mRNA expression was found in liver .It was low at D1, butincreased dramatically at D10 and kept going up at D30 and reached its peak. IGF-â… mRNA increased 3fold from D1 to D30. Then went down at D60. The concentration of IGF-â… mRNA in liver at D90 is assame as D60.The expression of IGF-â… mRNA in Rhin reached the highest point at D10 then descendedslowly.Seeing from the whole period of IGF-â… mRNA expression levels in liver, it was higher in Rhinthan in Zigoose from D10 to D60 and lower from D60 to D90.The change was the same as weight.5. Tissues differential character of IGF-â… mRNA expression was found in tissues. There issignificant difference of IGF-â… mRNA expression in Zigoose's ten tissue samples, where it was higherin liver, ovary and kidney than other tissues(p<0.05)and it was higher in liver, ovary kidney andbreast in Rhin(p<0.05).In two lines, IGF-â…  mRNA expression in Zigoose's was significant higher inovary(p<.05),and significant lower in liver and breast(p<0.05).
