Titanium is the ninth richer element in the earth, its average content of titanium is 6 g(TiO2)·kg-1 in the earth crust. As the soil in the world as concerned, most total titanium content is between 3.06.0g(TiO2)·kg-1, the average content is 4.6g(TiO2)·kg-1 the extreme values is 36g(TiO2)·kg-1 or more, which belongs to the midelement level. From the statistic of the present datum, the total titanium content in soil is from 2.0 to 39.0g(TiO2)·kg-1 in our country. In purple soil, the content of titanium is 2.520g(TiO2)·kg-1' and the average content is 6.7g(TiO2)·kg-1', generally speaking, this content is a middle level on the high side.Although titanium has not been proved to be necessary to plant in the point of view of biology, hundreds of researches have showed that titanium has promoted effects on some physiological functions of plant. The titanium content in different sorts of plants differs from 1 to 100mg(Ti)·kg-1, holding a large difference. However, some aspects about titanium are not clearly understood now, such as the optimal and practical requirement of titanium of plant, the form of absorbable titanium in soil, the mode of absorption and the conditions of soil.Compared to other elements, extracting and determining various forms of titanium is comparatively difficult. Up to now, there is not any intact method which can quantificationally extract and analyze the soluble titanium in soil and fractionate titanium forms. So, the research of the method which can simply, practically and rapidly extract and determine the soluble titanium in soil has significant sense to both the Ti-fractionation and soil fertility. At the same time, there are only a few reports on the content and distribution of titanium in plant and the differences of the content in different plants are very great. Xu Xinyu considered that the mean content of titanium in aerial part of spring wheat was 2.99 mg·kg-1, but Xie Huiguang studied the content of titanium in some species of spring wheat and found that the content was in the range of 6.1285.1 mg·kg-1. This difference has some relation to species of plant, the content of titanium in soil and soil condition, but what is more is lack of a kind of stable and feasible determination with wide applicability of titanium in plant. In addition, there is no systemic study about titanium on the physiological action of plant, existence forms, transformation process and the correlation between absorption by plant soil substance and fertility character. In recent years, there are many researches about titanium application on wheat, soybean, strawberry, grape and apple, and the effect is very good. The effect of titanium fertilizer application is very good and can obviously promote the quality of crop. But there are few reports on the titanium fertilizer application in southern parts especially in district of purple soil distribution.Comparing with the extracting results of present methods, this paper designed and ameliorated...
