ERDAS IMAGINE software was used to sort high precision IKONOS remote sensing image landscape of the Yunhe of Jintang county In this paper, and under the support of GIS, landscape pattern index such as average spot area, fragmentation, figure index, landscape diversity, dominance index, fragmentation and fractal dimensions were used to analyze the spacial position characteristics of upland field, terrace, forestland, orchard, residential area, water area, uncultivated land and bare land in Yunhe of Jintang county and the synthetical landscape characteristics of different hill regions. The main influential factors which influence and control the landscape pattern of the Yunhe of Jintang county were discussed. Meanwhile, the risk of soil erosion in Yunhe of Jintang county was evaluated with location-weighted landscape contrast index(LCI), and the landscape pattern optimizing measures were put forward on the base of soil erosion control. The study results are as follows:The image emendation and data enhance, fusion and composition of high precision IKONOS remote sensing image landscape of the Yunhe of Jintang county were carried out with ERDAS IMAGINE software. At the same time, according to the wave band characteristics, hue, color, texture and spacial position of the images, landscape spot information was acquired, images were sorted and the map of landscape patterns distribution was gained. The result of sort showed that the whole precision of the sort was relatively high. The total precision of the sort of remote sensing images in the study area was 86.58%. And the Khat was 0.82. According to the drawing precision of the 8 landscape types, from high to low, the type order was water area, forestland, uncultivated land, bare land, residential area, orchard, upland field and terrace. The precision was 99.01 % , 98.38%, 98.34 %, 94.06%, 91.78%, 81.56%, 78.03% and 71.99%.Different landscape types had different situation characteristics in a same slope area and one landscape type also had different spacial positions in three types of slope areas. The results indicated that, with the relief increment and the reduction of human activities, the diversity indices in the low...
