This research adopts image-data of the area along the Yangtze River in Jiangsu province from two periodical LANDSAT-TM of 2002 and 2008, combines geological information with RS,GIS and other technical methods, utilizing ENVI to proofread images, information extraction, image classification and visual interpretation, to obtain the landscape classification maps of 2002 and 2008 of this area, to extract the classification vector that obtaining relevant areas and other datas of each type.Utilizing FRAGSTATS to analyze four aspects on the composition, shape, diversity and fragmentation of landscape. Utilizing ENVI, ArcGIS and MATLAB and other software to establish transition probability matrix of landscape types and regarding 6 years as a step to predict the dynamic changes of the various landscape types of the area along the Yangtze River. Analyzing the impact of ecological environment on the changes of landscape pattern to put forward measures and suggestions, providing an effective basis for the landscape ecological security assessment research and landscape plan, which is a great significance for sustainable development of the area along the Yangtze River.In general, the development of the area along the Yangtze River gradually trends to the economic and ecological environment incompatible direction, Based on the data processing and analysis, the process of urban development and economic construction have achieved great results. At the same time, the ecological environment has gained an disadvantage, especially the necessary--arable land. The analysis shows some changes of landscape pattern from 2002 to 2008:(1) Landscape structure analysis:arable land occupied almost half of the total areas, which has a significant reduction in area; other land also has significantly reduced; water area and land for water conservancy facilities remained basically unchanged; forest and construction land were significantly increased. Landscape pattern has significant changes due to developing economic, green building and other reasons.(2)Landscape shape analysis:landscape shape index and fractal dimension have increased. But the serious interference from human beings conducts, development and growth of all major urban areas result in patches and the development tend to irregular and complex shapes. Hence,the degree of landscape fragmentation is on the rise state.(3) Landscape diversity analysis:the landscape diversity index and evenness index are in the trends of declining, spread index is going up. Which indicates the area along the Yangtze River is developing to large patches landscape.Due to human developing types of landscape construction,many biological populations are being destroyed, it means that human interference to the ecological landscape has been significantly increased. (4) The degree of fragmentation analysis:The fragmentation degree of the research area is increasing. Among them, fragmentation degree of arable land and the construction land is increasing while the fragmentation degree of forest and water and land for water conservacy facilities is decreasing.(5) The transfer of landscape analysis and prediction:Due to road construction, urban expansion, development and management of forest causes a lot of transfer of arable land area. Landscape area of arable land and other land had a large change, the main change is transfer to construction land and forest. Water and land for water conservancy facilities gains relatively smaller human interference, so that which is feckly unchanged. Prediction obtained:arable land area will be further reduced in the future development area; Meanwhile, other land will continue to decrease for urban development while land utilization is rising; Construction land, forest also will increase and water and land for water conservacy facilities will increase slightly(6)Finally, this research primary analyses the impact and consequences of ecological environment, economic development, which makes a more detailed explanation from the economic development, industrial development, urban, agriculture, rural construction, the human living environment, water resources, water environment, and makes a number of preventions and solutions.
