Study on the surviving performance of Sabina chinensis seedling planting on central separation belt of the Hu-Bao Highway, including seedling producing areas, water, seedling quanlity, environment condition and protecting measures. The results showed that:Dingzhou seedling could not easily adapt to the environment condition of Hu-Bao highway, the surviving rate was less than 46.65%, and the seedlings of Hu-Bao area could adapt that, its surviving rate was above 90%. In order to increase seedling surviving rate, native seedling should be firstly choosen.Water was the most important among these limiting factors. Water loss was the essential reason to Sabina chinensis seedling. Once seedlings left the soil, they were in danger to die. The study showed that seedling had to accomplish planting and irrigating for naked roots'seedlings in 3~4d. Moreover, protected by the whole root soil ball, root vigor could be maintained 26d without water supplied. So it was essential for supplied water to maintain seedlings living in 26d.In the long term, especially just planting seedling, cars speed at highway led gravely negative effect to the growth of Sabina chinensis seedling, even to living. In northern China, the planted seedlings used straw shade to prevent from severe winter, which was the best measure, plastic membrane was forbidden. It was necessary to pay more attention to the water manager. It could be use the function"ΔW=P+J-E-Tr"to accumulate the profit and loss of water , so that we could scientific, ration irrigation.
