The research and development of rice growth simulation model and decision support system for rice management would help to realize the dynamic prediction of rice growth system and decision making of production system, and should be important for construction and application of informational and digital rice system. Using system analysis principle and mathematical modeling technique, this study firstly developed an ecological model for predicting rice quality traits according to the dynamic relationships between rice and environmental factors and a simulation model on the formation of rice grain quality based on the eco-physiological processes. By using the methods of object-orientation, framework structure and component design, the present study developed a component and object-based rice growth simulation system, and realized comprehensive simulation for the whole processes of rice growth, development and formation of yield and quality. Then, a growth model-based digital decision support system for rice cultivation and management was established with different programming and database techniques. The system realized the functions of dynamic consultation, growth prediction and decision-making in rice production. The results from this study will be useful for quantification and digitalization of rice growth and management system under different conditions.By planting Indicia and Japonica rice varieties under the different ecological environment conditions in China, Japan and Thailand, this study analyzed the relationships between grain protein content, amylase content and chalkiness degree of different rice types and environmental factors including latitude, altitude, temperature and solar radiation during grain filling period, established the factor-driven equations for these grain quality indices accumulation in rice, and developed ecological models for predicting these quality index in rice. These models were validated by using the data of different years, sites and...
