Osmanthus fragrans is a very improtant evergreen garden trees in China, which has long cultivate history and wide distribution. It also is one of Chinese ten-traditional flower, and is deeply beloved by Chinese. So O. fragrans has played an increasingly important role in man's both material and spiritual life during over 2000-year long history of cultivation and utilization through fairy tales, poems, color, fragrance, posture and charm. Wuxi is located in the Yangtze Delta area with lots of the cultivars resources. It is very important significance to investivate cultivars resources in Wuxi for find out Chinese Osmanthus resources.The main results are as follows:1. Based on the wide investigation of the cultivars resources during 2 years in Wuxi, 64 cultivars are recognized. They are classified into 4 groups, among them, 1 cultivar in "Fragrans Group", 32 in "Latifolius Group", 18 in "Thunbergii Group", and 13 in "Aurantiacus Group". There are 13 new cultivars among all cultivars, 3 Groups are formulated cultvars classification system, and characters of each cultivars is discribed.2.
