As a kind of Fast growing tree species, Eucalypt play an important role in developing forestation in south ChinaJt's necessary to develop a new method for Eucalypt rooted cutting propagation by using the light media instead of deep yellow soils.Employing sustainable and environmental-friendly agro-forestry residues instead of routine peat substrate which is protected by law as the substrate as well as container is a pretty fine method to cultivate high quality Eucalyptus cuttings.It makes root system of cutting well-developed and gets the superior water potential by applying the capability of container of cutting root by air and water retention property and air permeability of light media, which enhances the activity and primary growth speed of seedlings, shortening the lag period after forestration.It also has the advantage to protect environment, reduce transportation cost, decrease labour intersity, and save manpower and material resources.In this research, mixing trail design is adopted and peat, coir carbonized rice hull and sawdust are taken as raw materials in order to investigate the relationship among the physical chemical properties and the cutting survival rate and height of cuttings, etc.The anova analysis, principal component analysis, Canonical Analysis and linear regression analysis on the different formulation show that: (1)The mainly differences among the formulation are Air-filled porosity(AFP), AFP/EAW ratio, pH value, EC, following by easily available water(EAW) and total porosity. (2)Survival rate of the cuttings is highly positive correlated with AFP/EAW ratio.(3) AFPs is highly positive correlated with the height of the cuttings.(4)The proportion of the composted coir is highly positive correlated with survival rate of cuttings.(5)Carbonized rice hull arise the decreasing the dry weight of cuttings above the ground and EAW, and the increasing of the EC, AFP, AFP/EAW ratio.(6)Peat have nothing to do with the survival rate of cuttings.(7)Uncomposted sawdust is negative correlated with rooting but beneficial to growth.The particle size analysis on different formulation show that the particle between 1-2mm and 3-4mm are positive correlated with...
