Recurrent Respiratory Tract Infection (RRTI) refers to a type of clinical syndrome, of which the number of upper and lower respiratory tract recurrent infection exceeds the specified number in a period of time. In recent years, the incidence of this disease is increasing year by year. According to statistics, 60% of the Chinese outpatient children have respiratory tract infection, of which 30% got recurrent respiratory tract infection. RRTI pathogenesis may due to innate endowment, physical weakness and other physical quality indifferences, improper environment and so on. Two of the above-"constitution" and "body condition" shows that RRTI pathogenesis is closely related with the physique. As disease course procrastinates, repeated treatment not only affects the mental health, growth and development of children, it affects the children’s parents in terms of nursing and caring problems. Exploring the RRTI children’s TCM constitution type helps to "prevent disease beforehand and from disease mutation". The objectives of this study are to highlight the Chinese concept of "preventing disease beforehand and from disease mutation"; Using the distribution regularity of TCM Constitution, to diagnoses children with recurrent respiratory tract infection in the Beijing area, in order to provide the basis for clinical treatment; to ensure children’s comfortableness and fast recovery, as well to prevent or reduce the incidence of respiratory tract infection number more effectively; and to suggests new ideas for family nursing. Ultimately, it is to embody the traditional Chinese medicine thinking of "preventing disease beforehand and from disease mutation".The thesis includes literature review and clinical research. In the first part of literature review, the author sums up the content about ancient and modern physical understanding of children physique, so as the division between children and adult physique; the second part is of related content of repeated respiratory tract infection and children’s health, and the clinical application of children’s constitution theory in recent years. Based on the clinical research of children’s physique related questionnaire survey of RRTI, the data will be summarized, summarized, analyzed, and discussed. Objective:To formulate a more suitable physique measuring table for children with recurrent respiratory tract in the Beijing area; to investigate the correlation between the susceptible physique of infected children as well as children with recurrent respiratory tract infection, and other symptoms and physical, in order to provide supporting evidences for clinical treatment. Thus, children have a better and faster recovery, and the respiratory tract infection in children can be effectively prevent or reduced. Methods:Based on Professor Wang Qi’s theory of TCM Constitution and the formulation of the "Chinese constitution classification and criteria" by China Association of traditional Chinese medicine, which divide children into nine TCM constitution type, and by using Professor Wang Qi’s thoughts on 9 kinds of Chinese basic physiques so as his relevant measuring table, adjustments on measuring table could be made in order for it to be more suitable for the situations of the children; pre-survey would be conducted first, and questionnaires would be modified to be more in line with the actual situation for relevant people with no medical background to understand more easily. From the statistical analysis of various physique ratio, on with the largest proportion is susceptible to be RRTI children physique, guidance would be given towards clinical early discovery of sensitive symptom prevalence, in order to provide supporting data towards "preventing the disease before it takes place". After the completion of the measuring table, questionnaire would be conducted on the 139 cases of children with recurrent respiratory tract in the First Affi Hated Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and the children’s hospital out-patient department of traditional Chinese medicine infection constitution between March 2014 to February 2015. Basic informat ion, including name, gender, and age of the children would be collected; results of the physique questionnaire would be quantified into scores. With judgments on the RRTI Constitution ratio, the susceptible physique can be found. Results:With the collected surveys of 139 cases of children with RRTI, there were 4 patients without clearly stated physical types, the total collected 135 valid questionnaires. it was found that there were 79 (58.52%) cases in boys, 56 (41.48%) cases in girls. The children age groups were divided into 0-2 years old,3~5 years old,6-14 years old, with the percentages of 18 (13.33%) cases, 75 (54.56%) cases,42 (31.11%) cases respectively. The age group of 3-5 years old children has the highest percentage, followed by the group of 6~14 years old. The physique survey showed single physical type dominated with 134 (99.26%) cases, while neutral type accounted for 81 (60.45%) cases, special intrinsic type for 17 (12.69%) cases,13 (9.70%) cases for Yang deficiency,11 cases (8.21%) for Qi deficiency,10 (7.46%) cases for Yin deficiency,1 (0.75%) case for phlegm dampness,1 (0.75%) case for qi stagnation, and there was no children with a constitution of simple moist or blood stasis; of which there was 1 (0.74%) case with a combination of two physique types:Qi deficiency with Yin deficiency. There were 4 patients without clearly stated physical types, including 3 cases of yin deficient tendency, and 1 case of Yang deficient tendency, which due to non-comprehensive physique measuring table or fill in errors by the parents. The relationship between types of age of children with RRTI with the constitution, while neutral type accounted, special intrinsic type, Qi deficiency, yin deficiency, phlegm dampness, qi stagnation in the age of 3-5 years, Yang deficiency 6-14 years old age stage. This investigation has great relevance to various symptoms, physiques, and recurrent respiratory tract infection:the children get the cold more easily than others:(75.26%) accounted for the highest ratio; the second highest was that the children sweat deficiently easily with slight activity (55.26%), the children are able adapt to changes in the external natural and social environment (51.11%), the children feel unusual warmth in the palms and soles of the feet (50.37%), the children constipate easily or have dry faeces (49.19%).Conclusion:Children TCM Constitution physique measuring table is suitable, since it effectively covers most of the children. There is a close relationship between the children with recurrent respiratory tract infection and their physical types in the Beijing area. Single physical type was the dominant, while a combination of two types constituted less. The neutral type is the most common single physical type, which matches with the pathological features that children are with dirty gas Qing Ling, can recover relatively easily and rarely suffer from severe illnesses. Special intrinsic type is characterized as average to high incidence of recurrent respiratory tract infection biased physique, and accounts for the dominant position; the symptoms or signs with great relevance with recurrent respiratory tract infection are:easy to catch cold, sweat deficiently easyily, whether they can adapt to the changes of social and natural environment, unusual warmth in the palms and soles of foots, easy constipation or dry faeces etc. The research above can support clinical treatment, children thus can have better and faster recovery, so as to provide references for better prevention or reduction in number of respiratory tract infections in children.
