The first three volumes of Bei Ji Qian Jin Yao Fang are prescriptions for woman’s disease. It shows that Sun simiao attached much significance to the woman’s disease. In this study, thecombinations of two or more herbs were studiedby data mining technology.The main symptom and the prescription characteristics of twenty chapters of the first three volumes wereanalyzed by the combination of data mining and classical literature study methodIn order toexplorethecombinations of two or more herbs and to study the characteristics of woman’s disease prescriptions, the followingare the major contents.(1)Database of the three volumes of prescriptions for woman’s disease in Bei Ji Qian Jin Yao Fang has been established.(2) The overall number of herbsã€dose range of each herbã€the number of herbs of each prescription〠the total dose of each prescription and dosage forms of the three volumes of woman’s disease〠the number of prescriptionsã€the number of herbs of each prescription anddistribution of dosage forms of each chapter was determined after data screening.(3) Combinations of two or more herbs of the total three volumesã€common symptomsã€commonly used herbs and combinations of twoherbs of each chapter byusing data mining software, named Liquorice, developedbyChinaAcademy of Traditional Chinese Medicine.(4) The pathogenesis and prescriptioncharacteristics of each kind of woman’s disease was analyzed by using the literature research methodreferring to the theory of herbs of Qian Jin Yi Fang. The main results are as follows.The main pathogenesis is deficiency of Qi and blood and blood stasis.Herbs with warm nature and the function of qi and bloodtonifing, blood circulation promoting and blood stasis removing was applied.The characteristics of overall prescriptions of woman’s disease are as follows:the ten most commonly used herbs are Licoriceã€Chinese angelica. Cassia Barkã€ginsengã€the rhizome of chuanxiongã€rhizoma zingiberisã€radix rehmanniaeã€radices paeoniae albaã€poria cocos and asarum sieboldi Mig. The commonly used combination ofherbs are Chinese angelica- Cassia Bark, Chinese angelica-radices paeoniae alba, ginseng- Chinese angelica, Chinese angelica-the rhizome of chuanxiong, Cassia Bark-radices paeoniae alba, ginseng-Cassia Bark, radix rehmanniae-Chinese angelica, Cassia Bark-rhizoma zingiberis, Cassia Bark-radix rehmanniae, Chinese angelica-rhizoma zingiberis, Cassia Bark-the rhizome of chuanxiong.Syndrome pathology and prescription characteristics of chapters with more than 10 prescriptions were summarized by data mining and literature researching.
