Clinical Observation On Treatment Of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome With Kidney Deficiency And Phlegm - Dampness Syndrome By Bushen Huatan Decoction

ObjectiveTo observe the curative effect of the method of replenishing kidney and eliminating phlegm to regulate the menstrual function method in the treatment of kidney deficiency and phlegm-damp type polycystic ovary syndrome. To explore the function mechanism in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome by comparing the menstruation and accompanying symptoms before and after treatment and related clinical index changes.MethodChoice conforms to the diagnostic criteria, inclusion criteria of 40 patients with kidney deficiency and phlegm-damp polycystic ovary syndrome, to have replenishing kidney and eliminating phlegm to regulate the menstrual function effect of traditional Chinese medicine granules (composed by wuzi yanzong pills, erchen decoction, siwu decoction) continuously oral treatment of three menstrual cycles. Comprehensive curative effect, Chinese medicine syndrome were observed before and after treatment of patients with curative effect, menstrual improvement, sex hormone levels, body mass index, insulin resistance index, the basal body temperature, the change of ovarian volume, follicular development, etc.Result40 cases of kidney deficiency and phlegm-damp type polycystic ovary syndrome patients after three menstrual cycles treatment of replenishing kidney and eliminating phlegm to regulate the menstrual function method of traditional Chinese medicine,2 cases of pregnancy, accounted for 5%, the comprehensive curative effect of 8 cases were markedly effective, accounted for 20%, effective 26 cases, accounting for 65%; Invalid 4 cases, accounting for 10%; Total efficient 90%. Menstrual cycle significantly shortened after treatment, compared before and after the treatment has significant statistical significance difference(P<0.05); After the treatment of ovarian volume was reduced, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05); Ovulation rate after treatment than before treatment significantly increased, but no statistically significant difference(P>0.05); After treatment of insulin resistance index, fasting blood glucose, fasting insulin level was decreased, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05); Body mass index declined after treatment, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Sex hormone levels before and after the treatment, LH, T, PRL all down, compared with before treatment, but no statistically significant difference(P>0.05), FSH.E2 rose, but no statistically significant difference(P>0.05), LH/FSH fell, and the difference was statistically signif icant (P<0.05).ConclusionThrough clinical observation, found that replenishing kidney and eliminating phlegm to regulate the menstrual function method to treat kidney deficiency and phlegm-damp type polycystic ovary syndrome curative effect significantly, can significantly improve the patients’ clinical symptoms, shorten the menstrual cycle, effective regulation of sex hormone levels and insulin resistance level, reduce the ovarian volume, increase ovulation rate. Its mechanism may be through regulating the body the hypothalamus-pituitary-gonad axis, correct sex hormones in the body, and metabolic disorders. Clinical application of this method no significant side effects and deserves further study.
